Especially, when there seems to be this notion that\nrenting in the UK should only be a temporary solution until we can buy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there are actually lots of\nadvantages to renting a property rather than buying, which means more and more\npeople are choosing to rent long-term. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Renting Gives You Flexibility <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you own a home, you tend to be stuck\nwith that home for years, as selling and moving can be stressful and\ncomplicated. Which means, if you want to relocate for a job or partner, it can\nbe difficult as you have no true time-frame on how long it will take to sell\nyour property. Whereas, while you\u2019re renting, it can be far easier to move\nproperties, as you either have a set time before your rental is up for renewal\nor you may be able to give notice and end your tenancy early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an ideal scenario for those who\ndon\u2019t want to be tied down to a certain city or for those who have a temporary\njob that makes their future uncertain, as most tenancy agreements last from 6\nmonths to a year. If you need to move before the end of your agreement, you may\neven be able to finish your agreement early if you find your landlord a\nreplacement renter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You Can Live with Your Friends \u2013 and Make Future Friends! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Often, when we fly the family nest, the\nidea of moving to a property by yourself can feel both daunting and lonely.\nInstead, by choosing to rent over owning your own property, you can choose to\nlive with a number of friends \u2013 just like you did in university. Which means,\nevery day together becomes fun as you enjoy meals and nights out together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even better, if you do rent a home with\nstrangers, these roommates have the potential of becoming your best friends in\nthe future, meaning you\u2019ve made yourself a friend for life. Or, if you don\u2019t\nfeel like you\u2019re gelling with your fellow renters, it\u2019s not hard to move on to\na new property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Renting isn\u2019t just for singles, though, as\nthese days many couples are renting along with other couples. Not only does\nthis save you all money and allow you to make friends, it also gives you a test\nrun of living together. Which means, if you\u2019re not compatible, you won\u2019t have a\njoint mortgage to try and split. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Property Ladder is Difficult to Get Onto <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the last few years, people in their\n20s and 30s have found it increasingly hard to get themselves onto the property\nladder. This is mainly due to the fact that both property prices and the cost\nof living have become more expensive. Which means that, in order to save for a\nhome deposit, these people would have to stay at their parents. That is, unless\nthey choose to rent! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Renting a property can give people both the\nindependence of living away from home as well as time to save up for a house\ndeposit in the future.
